Bringing Nature Home: Native Plants- Changing the Landscape Paradigm

On February 18, 2011, the Southern Chapter of the Illinois Native Plant Society hosted a presentation by Dr. Doug Tallamy on "Bringing Nature Home: Native Plants- Changing the Landscape Paradigm". The presentation was held at the Browne Auditorium at Southern Illinois University and was attended by an over-capacity crowd. More than 250 people attended to listen to Dr. Tallamy discuss the benefits, necessity, and urgency of landscaping with native plants.

The event was sponsored by the Illinois Native Plant Society, River to River Cooperative Weed Management Area, Shawnee National Forest, Friends of Giant City, Southern Illinois Audubon Society, Shawnee Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Carbondale Garden Study Club, Evergreen Garden Club, SIU Restoration Club, and Long Forestry.
